Social Media and Extra Curricular Activities

If you were to post something negative or inappropriate comment  online it should be means for you getting kicked off of extra curricular activities. Say you were to post a very negative comment about a classmate. Since you made that comment about a classmate you should get in trouble for posting it because it is not nice to post a negative comment about someone.  You should think about what you write before you hit the post button! What you post on the internet could have a  bad consequence for posting the comment. For instance,  Christine Rubino is a fifth grade teacher who got fired for posting a very negative comment about her own student. Christine Rubino stated, ” I hate their guts! They are all the devils spawn!” You may think that her comment was not negative to her students because she was probably just joking, but by saying that her students are the devils spawn is not a very nice thing to say about her own students. That comment was obviously not very positive to her students because she was was saying that her students are little devils. Her next comment sent the board office over the edge. Christine’s next comment concerned one student when she commented, ” I will not throw a life jacket in for a million.” That comment concerned the board office because she was basically saying that she would not save that child for a million dollars. The board office then charge Ms. Rubino and then took away her teaching license. without her teaching license she would not be able to teach again just because of a simple comment made on Facebook. Those comments were stated by Christine Rubino and quoted by Michael Gonchar, the author of the article Should What You Say on Facebook Be Grounds for Getting Fired. This proves to show that what you post on social media can get you in a world of trouble. Next time you post something on social media think before you post. Think about how that post can effect your life or whoever you are posting about.
